South Hills Junction from on-high.

I went back to the Carnegie Library for a good copy of this photo that has made it into quite a few magazines. The caption on the photo says it was taken in 1906 indicating that the building was erected in 1905-1906 (see the previous page for the predecessor). Notice that that the track near the building is still ballasted but the platforms and area around the building is concrete. Also note that the small number of power lines are held up by wood poles. The narrow gauge P&CSRR passenger train will head to Overbrook on the right-of-way that will be used by the electric interurbans in a few years from then and from now. Many changes were made by 1950 but some of those houses on the hill are still there.
