3001-3060

Single truck open summer cars, 35'6" length over buffers, width 7'11", weight 25,000 lbs.  Seating capacity was 55 on 11 benches.  They had McGuire Lord Baltimore 7'6" wb trucks with 2 Westinghouse 45 or 60 hp or 2 GE 45 hp motors.  These were the only post consolidation Pittsburgh open cars, having been built by St. Louis Car Co. on contract #262 in 1902. Car 3004 was written off the books in 1911, the others in 1923 and 1924. Probably because of safety considerations, the newest open cars were removed from the streets after 21 years. .

Signed for "Wilkinsburg via 5th Ave." 3054 gives her passengers a breezy ride down 5th Ave. through the lower hill district.
